I have four album of Led Zeppelin II and thid one sounds the best of them. This album never been an audiophile thing and never sounded very good. It is okay but never more than that.

Edited 7 years agoIs anyone elses copy sounding a little muffled and not very dynamic? Maybe my copy is just really worn but other Led Zeppelin albums I have sound crisper and are about as old.
Edit: It seems that Atlantic really toned down Led Zeppelin II releases ever since Bob Ludwigs famous mastering. Dont get these if you are a Zeppelin fan. Try something like a Bob Ludwigs, Original master recording MOFI or Classic Records release if you have the money, otherwise even a 2014 remaster is surely better than this.
Update: The biggest mistake I made back then as an inexperienced listener is not cranking enough volume. 1.5 just isnt enough, at 2.0 and above the record really comes alive. Some sounds are still a little bloated and muffled like drums and vocals on The Lemon Song and Moby Dick, especially on the left channel, but it could just be Zeppelins sub par recordings. Id still recommend a more audiophile release but this like most other 70s Zeppelin releases will treat you just fine until then if its in good condition. But be careful, what I said still holds true, most releases from the UK, US and even Japan that are made in the beginning of the 70s are terrible because of the infamous RL downgrade.
