German Christian publishing house founded originally by Rolf Brockhaus in Wuppertal-Elberfeld in the year 1853. In 2000, the company takes part in foundation of the umbrella organisation SCM together with Onken-Verlag and Bundesverlag. In that year, the preceeding companies R. Brockhaus Verlag and later TVG Brockhaus Verlag are successed by the company SCM R. Brockhaus.
In 2007 the company merges with SCM-Verlag GmbH & Co. KG as parent organization.
