Who said digital sounds better...? Go wash your mouth you... 😡
The print-through between the tracks gives you an extra dimension to the analog experience... -

This is just excellent. Hootie & the Blowfish have never sounded better. Soundstage sounds great through my VM540ML. This has got me even more excited to see them in September. -

I didn't quite know what to expect with some of the 90s pressings in the Atlantic 75 series. This one es with flying colors and to me bests the Matchbox 20 entry. I think it's better because this album is mellower and more acoustic than the pop rock of M20. The M20 kinda sounds digital to my ears but I still like it. -

I have and just compared this to the 2019 FYE exclusive release, which is awful fatiguing to listen to at any amount of volume. I’m going to be honest, when I started “Hannah Jane” on this AP pressing I was pretty unimpressed, or maybe underwhelmed. However, every track after was much better, “Running from an Angel” was the first track that caught my attention more than the others and sounded more like I was expecting. “Time” was for me the shining star of this pressing, especially the opening part.
Overall, was I expecting more? Yes and no, I’ve known how this album was mixed for about 30 years now. It’s never been very dynamic at all and not exactly known to be an audiophile album, so I wasn’t expecting a miracle because of the mix. I was maybe hoping for more, but I can say that in comparison to the FYE pressing I have that this is hands down better by a pretty good margin. Overall I do recommend it to those that are fans of this album. It brings me back to being 17 or 18 years old again back when it was released.
Phono equipment used - Pro-Ject 2Xperience SB with a Dynavector 20x2L into a Parasound JC3+ phono preamp. -

Absolutely my highest recommendation for this version. I was 8 years old when this was released. My mom and dad listened to it non-stop for the better part of two years so these songs are a part of my core memories. Needless to say this beats the sound coming from the 89 Caprice speakers… big soundstage and growling Les Pauls, you’ll know it’s great from the first drum hits on “Hannah Jane”. Please save up and buy this if you have any ing interest in the record. Hopefully it’ll spark more labels dipping into the 90s and seeing what can be done with these great albums! -

If you like this album at all, this is absolutely the pressing to get. Sonically rich in a way the original CD never was. Don't expect this to sound like a vintage '70s album though, this is definitely a '90s album with pretty "big" production and a wall-of-sound quality. But compared to original '90s pressings, this AP reissue is as good (or better) as most I've come across, definitely in the same ballpark as original Pearl Jam vinyl.
AP did a great 45RPM cut of Counting Crows' August over a decade ago.... This is a worthy successor. Hope Chad & AP continue to explore this decade.... Lots of great albums that haven't gotten the audiophile treatment yet! -

Flat, quiet vinyl. Sounds good, not great. Medium soundstage verging on narrow. There is no sense at all of a band playing behind a singer. All the sound seems to come from the space between the speakers. Vocals sound really good, but there is a slight sheen on the vocals that sounds a little fake. Musically, this is absolutely great. The three big singles from the album follow one after another and it's killer material. Easy to understand why this was so popular in its day. Sonically, it's better than the Matchbox 20 album, but not as good as the Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
