I’m not sure why I haven’t left a review for this one, considering it’s one of the best sounding pressings in my collection. I was a little worried after seeing these reviews but I’m convinced we had to have been hearing different things. Mine came in a paper sleeve however the actual cut on the record sounds phenomenal. I’d listen to this cut any day over the digital version.

The HDCD layer sounds really great! It’s such a shame this format didn’t take off as far as SACD, there are a lot of great HDCD releases that are only being played as normal CDs nowadays. -
Repressing is poor quality. Just ran through three copies, with each side B pressed off center. Side A is ok, but side B is off enough that the “wow” effect is so bad it’s not even possible to listen to the songs. Pitch is up and down significantly.

Completely impossible to regret buying this record. Wide Open Spaces is one of my favorite albums ever. My copy's ever so slightly noisy because I bought it used, but it does sound absolutely beautiful. You'll never hear this album clearer on anything else. Beautiful dynamics, just a wonderful record all around. This is the definitive way to listen to it.

I bought my copy at a concert and the middle label was printed on music part of the vinyl. So one side u can’t listen.

Great pressing, minor IGD but otherwise sounds phenomenal. Very clear sound with great bass and depth!
-
great pressing... record was quite dirty when opened... finger prints and dust all over it! after a run through my degritter it sounds absolutely fantastic.... very clean quiet pressing... awesome album

I really can not get over how truly phenomenal this pressing is. It’s possibly one of the best sounding records I own.
-
Overall impressed with the packaging, however there is a flaw with the pressing. I have tried now 4 copies and all have terrible distortion on the final track of Side 1. Sounds like static. In the first 10 seconds of the track, heading into and out of the 2nd verse, and near end of the track (during the violins). I have tried these on 2 turntables, both properly set up, with quality Cartridges (ATVM95ML). The majority of the record sounds great, so this is very disappointing.

Packaging is very nice, the pictures are very sharp and the jacket itself is made from very good material. My copy came a little warped, but it didn't affected playing at all. When it comes to the sound, the LP is dead silent, not a single pop, but the music itself could have more dynamics. I missed the low frequencies and Natalie's voice is a bit strident sometimes (this is something to expect due to her tone). Overall I would reccomend those LP's to the fans of the Chicks, they are very well made, not awesome sounding but it got its high points. 7.5 out of 10
