Kamasi Washington – Harmony Of Difference

I don't know why this has been listed as a 12" EP. The first sides clocks in at about 18 minutes and the second side at 13 and a half minutes? If it played at 45rpm I'd understand it. I'd change it to LP, but the EP tag has been used across multiple issues in these listings, so I will let it stand. Having said that, its a thoughtfully conceived and beautifully executed musical concept, but my YT 2017 US pressing was lacking flatness and needed a little time on the flattener.

Wow guys I really disagree with you! This place is to help guide your vinyle purchases and try to find which is THE best pressing of that album you really love listening to. I truly appreciate every comment people have on a particular pressing, but am not interested in knowing their opinion on the actual music. The music's listening quality is what we should really be focusing on on discogs, there are other platforms to discuss music appreciation. Hey if in your review of a press you want to slip in a line about your appreciation of the album and artist, thats's all good! Of course we are all music lovers, but the real pertinent comments and the "raison d'être" of discogs is really about press quality and information on the overall packaging. My opinion guys, you do you ;)

Classed and listed as an EP due it its short length but it is not and should be listed as a Album. A totally wonderful and beautiful peace of work for me and for many his very best. No fall asleep to 3 CD epic.

Wonderful compositions, but mine sounds a bit flat… unfortunately. Maybe I’ll give his other records a try on vinyl

Great sounding press. This album is incredible in its subdued dynamics. It really sings.

Wonder what it feels like to write this stuff, get all this music together, rehearse it, do the recording sessions, etc. only to have people complain about the inner sleeve and describe it (begrudgingly) as "overall a worthwhile purchase". Nice to see some folk enthusing about the actual music - isn't this what it is all supposed to be about anyway?

Wish it was a 45, but damn is this a silky smooth half hour spin. A constant go-to when I want a morning spin to start my day. Sound quality is just right, and the message behind the album included within makes this an appealing concept piece. For me, this is more enjoyble than Kamasi's over the top, lofty performances on The Epic (not a comparison of the artistic quality bc each is it's own vision, but for casual listening this takes the cake)
