Oh yeah. It all starts with this great Funkadelic album. Maybe their best.

Peeps, this is raw Funk. It sounds charged and full of distortion and . Audiophiles will be reaching for more snake oil for this bad boy.
For DJs this is dope.

Sounds kind of low, almost a little muddy. First time hearing this album so I don't know if it's the pressing or the mixing/mastering of the original audio.

For sure the worst pressing I own. I can’t enjoy it at all with this bad CD recorded sound (or worse).

As others have mentioned here, this is a great pressing. I have an original that I love dearly but has some serious Preloved surface noise which bugged me in the quieter ages. Without wanting to break the bank on a better but more expensive original, I opted for this instead. It sounds really close to the OG, nothing is lost here, only the slightly flimsy 80s sleeve. Other than that it's a perfect pressing to my ears.

As other mentioned, really good pressing ! Happy to have this one in my collection.

Agree on BAB27’s comment below, this pretty much sounds the same as the original ‘70 Westbound pressing, except it was picked up for larger distribution by 20th Century Records.

It’s loud, nasty, and ultimately grooves. Buy with confidence on this one.

I’m brand new to this album and of course I’m blown away. As for this release….I sonic’ed this so its even cleaner than the already NM (at least by appearance-no hairlines, scuffs, grooves are clear) condition I bought it in. With that in mind, anyone else hearing the high end distortion on certain parts of Atkins’ organ solo during “Good ole Music”? Did the original have it I wonder? I guess I could stream it to hear if it’s on the that recording (I know..the horror!) Otherwise for $19 this will do just fine as as I know it’s unlikely I will ever a) find it in similar good condition or b) if i do, be able to afford the original or earlier 70’s non digital represses.

For $21, can't go wrong. Sounds good enough. Was it ever a hi fidelity experience?

The most underrated album of all time. 50% blues rock and 50% R&B gone insane. Just crazy, off the wall stuff for 1969-1970. Can’t even imagine what the average person thought of this upon release. It’s still far out in 2024.

The marketplace does not seem to understand that these source masters are loooong gone and it’s only the 1970 and 1975 westbound releases that will ever truly capture the magic. The 1989 reissue comes close and then everything from last 30 years is essentially mp3 quality.
