João Donato – Quem É Quem

I have tried 3 different copies of this but they were all off centered on the b-side making it unlistenable to my ears. Best to avoid this pressing. I suspect the whole run went sideways. Not worth your money.

This is an amazing vinyl. The sound is incredible. It is a rare Polysom pressing, as far as sounding that clear (I own about 15 Polysom pressings, though none anywhere close to this one). One can clearly hear surface noise. However, the mastering is so superb — and with high volume level —, that signal-to-noise masks completely the base noise.

There's also a (current?) green pressing floating around which sounds decent at best except for the fact that side 2 on both of the copies I tried is off centered which ruins the more laid back tunes towards the run out especially.
There's a hype sticker on the front that reads: limited edition 180gr heavyweight vinyl solid green vinyl www.newsdistribution.be.
For the rest the sleeve seems to be the same with a gold/black Polysom sticker.

Does anyone know if a mono version of the record exists?

Note says 'poor reprint' but my pressing is very loud, sounds great. No insert. Reproduction of original center labels, not the redone labels seen on other pressings.

Looking for a clean sleeve. If selling hit me up!

echoing some of the other posters, my copy has surface noise thoroughout, but i will say it's really only noticeable in between tracks and some of the quieter moments.

do i expect more from a press i paid $40 for? sure, but i'll take it over paying through the nose for an original that im sure will have surface noise anyway.

My copy has also annoying surface noise from beginning to end. And both sides plays some out of center. Very bad pressing for a price of roundabout 36 Euro. I will send it back.

I had 2 copies. Both with annoying surface noise from beginning to end. Mastering is really good but this sizzling... mostly annoying in quiet parts.

1990's Bootleg!!!...and a really horrible one to 'boot'.Avoid!! One of a number reissued unoffically by a crazy Russian conductor who lived in London, spoke 12 languages and who once dated Nara Leao,Rudolf Nureyev AND Ava Gardner .....quite a character :-) .He was also good friends with the late great Brazilian guitarist Rafael Rabello-- in fact they had a mutual girlfriend in common! He was my main source for rare (original) Brazilian lps in London in the late 80's early 1990s.Got some incredible stuff from him.
