Paul Young – No Parlez

The Sunburst label pressings all list Come Back & Stay as 4:57 but are actually only 4:25.

The ever reliable but not often championed MOV deliver on this one. The original album (disc 1) sounds spacious, detailed and punchy. My original pressing was no slouch but did suffer from IGD on the end of side 1, this doesn’t. The second disc is great, content wise, but isn’t as well mastered.

What an excellent release from MOV - great sound and excellently packaged - highly recommended.

Wow 10p a copy for a slice of 80s blue-eyed soul pop at it's best. Now considered totally uncool by the style police but dare to listen and you will charmed. 80s fletless bass (by Pino nonetheless), massive production, poptastic covers of do-not-touch, iconic songs like the holy JD's Love Will Tear Us Apart, done so differently you can't really be offended. It sold in truckloads and rightly so.

Does someone know how the demo version from Sex has a different intro than the demo that appears on the 2015 box Tomb Of Memories - The CBS Years 1982-1994?

Based on my "research", disc 1 not just has a different version of Love Of The Common People:
- CD1-1 Come Back And Stay is the Single Remix Version from a 7"
- CD1-2 Love Will Tear Us Apart is from the 7" and 12"
- CD1-6 Love Of The Common People is a unique edit to this release? Seems to be the 7" remix with the last approx 35 secs from the extended version combined

Once again a deluxe CD issue-thats ''COMPACT DISC'' that has been issued in a ridiculous 7'' vinyl sleeve!!!! Why do music companies do this???? This is a bugbear for the vast majority of CD collectors. We arnt into vinyl, we hardly have any vinyl left (and what we do have left is probably a couple of sentimental pieces stored for years in the loft gathering dust) and we certainly dont buy vinyl anymore. So why put CDs in a 7'' vinyl sleeve??? This is purely to jump on the current vinyl revival bandwagon.

Obviously CDs issued in this sort of packaging (or even worse 12'' sleeves like Underworlds 4CD sets) are impossible to store along with a CD collectors other CDs. A Normal CD case would of been more than suffisant and would of probably cost half the price to make than the 7'' packaging. Electribe 101 have done the same with their recent 4CD set and the Fun Boy Three issued their 4CD set in a DVD sized box! Utterly pointless packaging which has spoilt all of these eagerly awaited releases.

I've got a couple of the SDE atmos blu rays and this one is without a doubt the best one yet. Mr Kosten has done an excellent job ; the music comes from absolutely everywhere, all the surround speakers are actively involded in the experience. If you want to hear even more of Kosten's excellent job on this album, play the atmos mix of the instrumental versions.
PS : the bass guitar in the center speaker during Sex will blow you away !!

Listening to the Dolby Atmos version of Come Back and Stay, really some interesting choices in the mix. Claves sound like they are on the right side of me, backing vocals come from left side and right front, Paul's vocals really fill the room at the front, and the "whoos" at then end really fill the room with sound.
