This is a solid debut album, aided by an inventive Curt Boettcher production and some intricate vocal arrangements. Beyond the two hits, "Along Comes Mary" and "Cherish", highlights include "Message Of Our Love" and "". My copy is a 1966 mono pressing that sounds good, with the vocals and instruments clearly defined, and a warmth and fullness to the soundstage. The vinyl plays through cleanly, with occasional faint surface noise.

I bought the STEREO LP of "AND THEN...ALONG COMES THE ASSOCIATION" (1966) by THE ASSOCIATION on VALIANT RECORDS from one of the many record clubs at the time ( CAPITOL RECORD CLUB , COLUMBIA RECORD CLUB , RCA RECORD CLUB ) and it was my all time favorite ASSOCIATION record . It contained the hits "ALONG COMES MARY" and "CHERISH" .

I bet there's a NZ version of this, HOPEFULLY. I guess it would be on the London records label like the UK vers. and it would be housed in a triple flipback front-laminated cover.
