The Jazz Crusaders* – Freedom Sound

This pressing is absolutely amazing and sounds better than many of my super duper audiophile ones. Long time crusaders fan and so pleased to have this wonderful recording… has them playing right in the room.

I got this OG for $9.99 today at Euclid Record in St. Louis, MO. It sounds amazing. If you can find this mono version, pick it up!

I think it’s about time that Tone Poet starts looking at non Blue Note releases more than what they have done in the past. This release is a prime example of what a good recording session plus modern analog mastering can sound like. One enthusiastic 👍.

I have the O.G. pressing of this record and the Tone Poet is definitely a notch better. I also have to say that this one of the better Tone Poets that has come out over the last 12 months. We'll done.

Absolute home run. My favourite Tone Poets - at least for recording and sound quality - are made up of a fair few non Blue Note albums. I guess im not a huge Van Gelder fan being much more a fan of rhe Du Nann style. This just sounds lush!! The pressing is top notch and RTI have finally after 20+ years ditched those waxy feeling weird inner sleeves for a Mofi style rice paper/poly jobby. At £35 i want for nothing more than these reissues!!

I've had a bad run of luck with RTI for awhile now, but my copy of this was nicely pressed.

Just a fantastic sounding record. “Freedom Sound” is a track you can play on repeat. Stunning piano from Joe Sample.

This is a great sounding album, Blue Note does it right again!

Another Tone Poet that sounds so much better than I was expecting. A home run. Nice clean and great sound.
