Anthrax – Spreading The Disease

Bought it by mistake. Yes, it's an unofficial release, but in case you are considering buying, it has a terrible sound; very muffled and zero dinamycs.

Pressing is alright! The songs sound nice and clear but need to be cranked up loud on the speakers. I tested it out by playing my Incubus record which sounds phenomenal and loud, then put on Spreading The Disease and gotta say that there is a big difference in sound quality but hey. If you manage to crank it to 11 it will be just perfect!! No pops or crackling on my copy so Im happy out

where's the bass on this album? Does anyone have CD edition on which the basses correspond to thrash metal?

A great pressing that fills in the hole of reissues being absent from the Anthrax catalogue. I used to have a Music For Nations picture disc and this is a much better sounding press than the latter. 8/10

This cd sounds fine. I haven't compared with other japanese releases (maybe they're the same as this one) but the US or Europe Megaforce/Island versions all have flaws: channel imbalance or bad EQ, they sound thin with no bottom end in comparison. Remasters are brickwalled

With their second album,Anthrax still played some cross between heavy power and thrash metal,but nonenthless this is really good album.My bigest problem with this record is bad production which is thin and kinda flat,just can't used to it.
Joe Belladonna enters to replace Neil Turbin and that replacement was big score for Anthrax because Belladona is a Singer with capital S.His vocals are really unusual for thrash metal at that time but I found it excellent.
Album is opened with great thrasher A.I.R.with exceptional drumming by Charlie Benante and continuing with more strong songs like Medusa,Gung Ho,The Enemy or Mad House.
With Spreading The Disease,Anthrax become much bigger band in the thrash scene and much more will follow with their next album.
Overall,44 minutes of great music definitely worth your time.
