Great, detailed sound. A pleasure to listen. Solid and quiet vinyl.

Sounds great. Of course it is the same stampers as the ones used in all the numerous previous MOV releases of this album. The MOV "house sound" fits perfectly for this album. Great dynamics in both top and bottom, and as usual with MOV the vinyl is perfectly flat and completely silent.

It is great that Music on Vinyl is keeping this extraordinary classic alive with their numerous repressings of it, it really deserves it. It boggles the mind that this music was recorded in 1971-72.

Found this in a hoarders garage while diving through his old collections full of dust and cobwebs and legitimately screamed inside when I saw this. Sounds really good on 8 track

Some years ago, Ugly Things printed a '100 Records That Were Punk Before Punk' or similar. Included was a supposed Warner Bros test pressing of the Modern Lovers, dated 1975. Anyone know anything about this? I think the same article featured talk about a Japanese pressing of Fun House that was supposed to feature different takes/mixes, but this has been discredited. So was the writer (one J Kugelberg) pulling our collective, collector-obsessive legs? Or do these elusive items actually exist? I'm sure there won't be anything on either (if they aren't imaginary) that we haven't heard by now, I'm just curious ...

22 years ago.... Anyone know why this particular reissue was able to be what is still the most comprehensive overview of this unique chapter, and more importantly, and being that there is rather more to this picture - well why has no-one has been able to move towards a more complete version of this music since? Lets get beyond-the-bootlegging!

I have a copy that appears to match this one (the one photo of the label is not great). No "GRT" in the runouts. The disc appears VG at worst, but there is bad distortion throughout, especially on the left channel. Does anyone else have this issue? I suspect this is a counterfeit. My runouts are only "JBZ 0050 A" and "JBZ-0050-B" (with the Side 1 runouts in larger font), if that helps.

Can we talk about how great this pressing sounds??? I bought this today for a wickedly great deal compared to the listed copies, and it was worth every penny!! Super fat and crispy sound on this one, plus the music is even greater so it's a match made in heaven!

Years ahead of their time! They weren't ready for this stuff in 1972. It took some years for the old world to catch up with them. They were the new world. Taking this one with me to the desert island.

I'm sure there is better sounding pressings of this album, but this 1978 press has served me well over the last 47 years, I play this record often, and it still sounds great to me. The snarling guitars of Modern World still sounds as wonderful as it did when I first played it. Roadrunner still sounds fresh and reminds me of summer road trips with this song blasting on the car tape deck. I love this album, and no matter what pressing you have, you should love it too.
