Gerard Way – Hesitant Alien

Lets face it, most people found this album via a love for MCR and a lot of the dislike I've seen floating around for it stems around the fact it doesn't sound like MCR. It's become a little bit of a lost treasure imo when it comes to artist who came out of third wave emo, the music holds up on it's own without being too reminiscent of MCR. It's a fun album to put on while driving or cleaning but one I like to come back to and just absorb it every now and again.

What an amazing album and pressing. I saw this in the my chemical romance section and couldn’t stop myself from getting this. For 18$ I couldn’t be happier. He should be releasing another album soon too. Let’s go!

Very well mastered and very pretty vinyl, but my copy has pretty bad non fill in the inner grooves, particularly on side A

absolutely electric sound and i love the blue vinyl, matches the visual aesthetic of the album's art direction so well. highly reccommend this release!!

This is for the clear vinyl Hot Topic exclusive pressing. Definitely a record you have to crank a bit to get the full sound. Unfortunately that means hiss and if there are any clicks/pops, those get amplified. I know there is some bit of logic to quiet sounding pressings (better dynamics/fuller bass dimension) but too quiet brings its own set of problems. Still a great record and worth owning (especially for MCR fans)! The new RSD pressings might be better (and soooo much cheaper), so check those out instead.

Mastering is great, some moments can feel like they have a “wall of noise” quality to them but as a whole this is a really well mastered record, and the blue vinyl looks really nice! Unfourtounately, my copy has hissing and shuffling throughout the last three songs of side A and the last two of side B. I can only really hear it in between songs and in quiet moments but it’s still really annoying as In every other way this pressing is phenomenal.

Lovely press, is there much difference between the two though?
