Um, am I missing something here, what's with the insane pricing on the resales? With a little patience you can buy an original in ok condition for that amount...? In fact, Vol 2 (Sound of Joy) sits around for double digits...? And 500 copies is not exactly "limited"? You guys are craazeee...

I had set a reminder on my calendar over a month before launch, set timers for the night before, and ensured I woke up at 4am local time to ensure I got this and hazzah!! I was successful in snagging both Vol. 1 & 2 and asked for a matched set so I have set #319.

The persistence was worth it. This Vol. 1 is PERFECTLY flat. I VPI cleaned and anti-static treated before play and I swear there are zero pops, clicks or imperfections!! I almost teared up, no joke on track one when the muted trumpet came in!

The clarity, quality, everything just oozes out of this release. While not cheap, and a hassle to get over here from and with the website issues, I'm glad I persisted because this set will now be a prize set in my collection. This is my 1st artisan release and now the name truely makes sense to me.

Impressive work, top notch mastering and cut, vinyl flat and clean. That's how a reissue should be. Very happy with my copy.

Sam records website indicates that this has been sold out! Even though it’s listed as 500 hand numbered copies, will they release the unnumbered editions at any point of time? I guess not!!! Looks like they took a cue from ERC & decided to keep only 500 people in the world happy campers & anger the rest of the vinyl community!!!

Question to the Pros: why are there two identical listings marked as Promos for both volumes? Is there even a promo version? And if there is, there cannot be 40 of them (as marked as owned at the time of writing). Is this a mistake? I don't dare to edit anything, but wondering..

To me, without a doubt it is a stereo presentation. My copy matches the matrix code of this release. Also, the tip-on type cover tells me this reissue is from the late 60s, early 70s.

This is supposed to be re-released by Sam Records, but it is impossible to buy and they will only press 500 copies.

How about a Tone-Poet re-issue instead? This would make much more sense considering that Universal has been re-issuing so many other Transition titles recently.

the most detuned (and horrible) sounding Tom-drums in the history of Jazz, but you never know, they might have done it on spaced-out purpose.
