Bass is a bit bloated. Other than that, it sounds fantastic and is on a whole other level compared to the terrible original stereo. The mono still beats it out, but it's a close competition.
The difference in mastering between the CD and vinyl is night and day, btw. The CD is loud. The vinyl is much more pleasant and dynamic. -

This is a very fun album to own, I don't think the remix sounds bad at all, there are some strong opinions about this though. I am no expert, just a guy who loves music. The album was perfectly pressed, I have no imperfections in mine and it sounds great. I think that the album still smells like a stickerbook and I've owned it for over two years so that's kind of funny /gen. I think that this is a good option for someone looking for a copy of Peppers.

I honestly find it kind of hilarious that following the Revolver reissue the world has basically gone full 180 on Giles Martin. Back in my day, this remix was the cream of the crop.

Edited 2 years agoThe bass is too loud on this vinyl record. I have the same issue with the other Giles Martin reissues.

Edited 2 years agoGood, clean pressing that’s unfortunately marred by the poorest remastering/remix I’ve heard for this specific album. Everything in this new mix sounds so compressed and thin. I compared my mono original 67 first pressing, an early 1970’s UK stereo and the 2014 mono repress, and there was a significant improvement across the board compared to the 2017. I would not recommend this reissue.
