Edited 19 hours agoFlat clean heavyweight vinyl, comes with printed inners like the original... much heavier vinyl than the original US Sire, the cardstock on this is a bit matte, seems like the early '70s pressings more glossy... sounds like they've narrowed the hard pan original stereo a bit on this, and boosted the bass, not an enormously revisionist remaster but noticible, use your balance control on an earlier pressing and this one and you'll see what I mean ... The red vinyl mono is probably the way to go on this now, anyway... and there are plenty of vinyl copies dating from the original pres until this remastering in 2016 that contain the original stereo if you're concerned about that. Much better than the 2016 remaster CD in of dynamics. Grab this and the red vinyl mono you should be satisfied, and if you want to be a completist grab a 70s 80s 90s etc vinyl copy... Spend endless rainy afternoons comparing the three °○°... don't think there's anything wrong with having multiple copies of the Ramones first album LOL... signed, the guy who apparently owns three copies of BÖC's Tyranny and Mutation...

It does have some IDG, but the trade off is that there’s wider grooves for a more bolstered bottom end & it does good! It’s definitely a different sound. Soft of has the “mofi treatment” so-to-speak. I think it’s a good one to have

Granted I don't have another pressing to compare it to, but this sounds great to my ears! Nice and punchy.

Mixed reviews on this one it looks like. Just like the first reviewer I found the sound on this one very good. Heavyweight vinyl, just about zero surface noise and it fills up a room nicely. It’s punk so I’m not expecting the best “sonic” experience but I’m very pleased with this pressing. No complaints here, happy to add to my collection.

I don't like this remastered version. It attempts to bring the mix to more contemporary standards, but I think it falls flat. Although I agree bass is bigger/better - it otherwise sounds compressed. The clarity and dynamics are squashed, and although the original mix is pretty tame by our modern ears, it still has punch when you crank it up. Sorry, I usually love Rhino

Too much low end. Unfaithful to the original. Vocals way too trebly. Get the CB remaster from 2011 (elegantly done, faithfull to the 1976 one).

Edited 6 years agoThe record comes in a generic polylined paper sleeve, but this version also includes a separate sleeve with printed lyrics...assuming the printed sleeve is a reproduction of the original.
