Yep agreed the best sound I’ve heard from this album, ditched my US and UK pressings after hearing this although now I’m even more intrigued to hear the MOFI cut because I’m told THAT is the cleanest the album has ever sounded. Pretty sure this album doesn’t have the greatest sound quality in general.

I know all of the tracks, but I hate this trend of removing the tracklisings on the labels

I’d hate to hear the original if this release is what reviewers are saying is the best pressing. U2 albums rarely rate from an audiophile perspective and this is no exception. Is it quiet and clean - absolutely, does it sound good - absolutely not, and yes I’m a Chris Bellman fan. Clearly the original masters are poorly produced & mixed. Definition is missing in action / sibilance hasn’t been rolled off on the vocals & bass is muddy. The whole U2 catalogue needs a complete remix and remaster.

I've waited almost 40 f*cking years to hear this album clean - and this release is SO pretty I cried. Like I lost a loved one - or found them again! Damn it sounds great - dead quiet during '4th of July' which was my deciding moment - never heard that quiet til now! Well worth the $!

Just picked this up and it sounds pretty good but it’s pressed on black vinyl. All the info in the runout is from this edition including CB/SS but the barcode on the sleeve is from the 2009 pressing: 602517924161. Lacquer used is from this edition but vinyl color/barcode is from 2009 issue. No hype sticker. Strange.

            OMG!
Now, why can't all my LPs sound like THIS ONE????
The PERFECT RECORD in every way.
Obviously the music, BUT this is the MOST SILENT LP I HAVE HEARD in...a VERY LONG TIME!!!!
So, YES, all of the reviews that state it's a silent pressing, well, they are true...besides a very early pressing, THIS IS the way to go. folks...
Mind you, in 2022, whenever I see a "Made in Czech Republic" LP my heart sinks, but this goes to show you that , once upon a time, they took their job seriously....

Remastered by The Edge himself... A 100% pure version, with a deep and clear sound, as said before.
The sound is much better than on my original.
Great album with a fantastic quality pressing.
And as vinyl is a lossless format the sound goes straight from the original analogue tapes to your ears.
The quality of the cover is also very impressive: quality of the paper, original layout in a complete booklet with the metal ink... everything is there.
              To be recommended!

I own a UK first and a mofi anadisc press which i wont open so idk how it stacks but i also own a usa first and the 2009 reissue and now this wine color 2019 re-issue and i believe out of all the different pressings i own this one is the best so far. That will probably change if i ever open my mofi all analog pressing but for now this 1 is king of the hill. Great job by chris bellman and bernie grundman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't listened to an original pressing, but this reissue is an excellent package and vinyl is pretty noise-free. Recommended.

It is a really good pressing, with no surface static, and I thought GZ did an atypically nice job with this one. The wine colored vinyl looks perfect with the cover art too. However, when comparing the sound quality to my original US pressing, it is sorely lacking vibrancy and punch. Also, the cover photo should be sepia in tone, but for some reason it's been changed to grayscale and just looks wrong to me.

Fantastic pressing! Silent out of the sleeve without a clean. Super dynamic mastering by Bellman. Warm 3D sound. Beautiful music. Grab it while it's super cheap, as it won't be when OOP
