Edited 4 years ago"Yo Yo Get Funky (Use To Hearin')" shows how excoriating and, frankly, Hardcore Chicago could sometimes sound. -
Edited 19 years agoFantastically exciting release at the time. Absolutely the definitive hip-house record, pre-dating Tyree's "Turn Up The Bass" by a few weeks (on UK LP release anyway) and although completely eclipsed by it, better in my opinion.
Lyn Collins 'woah... yeah' break on a 4/4 beat; "Yoyo get funky" sample from Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock"; superb composition of buildups and drum breaks by Fast Eddie; and a relentless rap by Kool Rock Steady made this a killer!
