Edited 4 years ago"Yo Yo Get Funky (Use To Hearin')" shows how excoriating and, frankly, Hardcore Chicago could sometimes sound.

Edited 19 years agoFantastically exciting release at the time. Absolutely the definitive hip-house record, pre-dating Tyree's "Turn Up The Bass" by a few weeks (on UK LP release anyway) and although completely eclipsed by it, better in my opinion.
Lyn Collins 'woah... yeah' break on a 4/4 beat; "Yoyo get funky" sample from Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock"; superb composition of buildups and drum breaks by Fast Eddie; and a relentless rap by Kool Rock Steady made this a killer!
