Bought this for my 10 year-old son as an experiment- his first vinyl. He has loved everything Cuphead for years now, and he completely gets how this is a different listening experience than when we hear these tunes on Spotify in the car. Highly recommend this exceptional "gateway drug" of an album.

Edited one year agoWhen Don't Deal with the Devil is playing on my copy, my tonearm moves like a lie detector. Strangely, it sounds fine though considering it feels like the record is designed to sound like an old record from days gone by. No idea if this has been done deliberately when pressing, but thought it was worth mentioning here.
The music sounds sublime on my setup with barely any surface noise from the records. As for the presentation, I had a good laugh looking at the art and text inside the gatefold, on the inner sleeves and also the record centre labels. All perfect :D -
Edited 2 years agoCan someone pls add the repress? or is it the same cat number and etchings and year?

I'm no audiophile, but it sounds very good on my decent setup. Video game music really has no business being this good, it's stuff my grandfather would have danced to in the 40's. Cuphead is a masterpiece video game, IMO, they put such effort into the art, concept, and music, and it shows. I have better sounding vinyl, but not by a lot, and I think a lot of the sound is purposefully done to sound like an older recording.

Missing some absolutely must haves like "Honeycomb Herald" and "Pyramid Peril" to name a few, but still a must have and fantastic version.
-
The essential tunes are there, packaging is great, and virtually no surface noise. I do wish more bossfight music was included instead of some of the vocal tracks, but overall I’m quite pleased.

Edited 4 years agoThis soundtrack was tailor-made for vinyl, and thankfully iam8bit actually didn't fuck it up! The alternate takes of songs are neat to hear (except the ending of Don't Deal With The Devil, wtf is that), however songs like Honeycomb Herald and Pyramid Peril really should've been included. The packaging is adorably 30s cartoon-esque, and the discs themselves sound pretty good, with the only lacking part being the absence of bass. Side note, there are actually two tracks on here that are 100% exclusive to this vinyl release which aren't listed on the tracklist: a track that sounds like unused trailer music at the end of side B, and the Nintendo Switch trailer music at the end of side D

Some songs like Clip t Calamity and Pyramid Peril really should have been included on this. Still a lot better than spending a fortune on the box set.
-
Honestly incredibly disappointed Honeycomb Herald wasn't included. The in-game version is miles ahead of the soundtrack version and I would kill to have the in-game version on vinyl. A shame. Looks like 4LP version for me..
-
Record sounds great. Agree with the guy below. Pyramid peril is one of the best on the soundtrack. But its a fantastic selection of tracks.
Also theres a cheeky little bonus jingle at the end of side d. If you haven't bought the game on switch yet.....
