Just as some have already said, the pressing is clear and loud. As a sidenote, does anyone know how this one compares to the colour pressings (I mean, the TMR ones). Do they sound any different?

Just got a copy of this after reading all good reviews on here (and being wary of third man reissues having heard mixed things before). it sounds very good, clearly has been remastered for vinyl and its super loud, clear, and dynamic sounding.
That said, my copy definitely has some surface noise only noticeable on the quiet parts. Luckily its a really loud record most of the way through so I don’t care but thought I’d mention it for any particular snobs. Southern lord copy might sound better. I was a broke teenager when those came out so this was my best option and it sounds great.
I’m also stoked to have this version cause it has the original artwork (you know, what the band created along with the album in 98). Weird to me that people are complaining about the “boring” layout when its just the original layout printed up very nicely.... to me this is essentially what an “original” copy would be like if they had released this on vinyl in 98 -
This thing sounds great, my one problem with it is that the jacket is really thick so whenever I take out one disc, the gatefold flies open and doesn't close

Edited 4 years agofinally spun this thing and it's better than i expected. generally an underwhelming package, (worse art imo compared to southern lords, not the heavy tip-on jacket i expected, and records could feel a bit more substantial) but it still sounds really good. the quieter ages sound pretty much silent and the louder ages keep a lot of their doom-y sound with all the low end you'd want.
while the jacket itself is unexpectedly average, it's still really nice. the printing is sharp, the gatefold almost looks a little sturdier than normal, and the fact that it actually has the lyrics is a nice touch. don't take what i said as negative points, this is still a really solid release. -
anyone else feel like the art they used here sorta blows? the southern lord vinyl art looks great, but the fact they went for the cd version is sorta baffling. that gatefold is DRY as hell compared to the sl copies
