I bought this before checking here cause the price was so low. What a surprise. This is one of the best sounding records I have. Dead quiet, and sounds excellent. I have an old copy I've had for years and this sounds just as good if not better.
-
I echo all the comments around how great this pressing sounds. Punchy as heck. Cut a little hot maybe, some sibilant vocals here and there but nothing horrible. Well worth the price.

Edited 3 years agoReissue of their '77 album...hey, it's Talking Heads...This a 180 gram pressing that is top drawer...From CBGB days in the Big Apple is where they helped spread their music format globally as they ventured to Europe for numerous tours...Plus they were in the studio a whole lot during their time together...Tina and Chris hooked up as man and wife and they even had a side group that got lot of and love from their fan base...It is the Tom-Tom Club...My humble says "Stop Making Sense" is heads up the finest LIVE concert movie ever put down on celluloid...Also a good read is Chris's biography which has been out for several years...He goes deep in depth telling about all their shows and tours that they accomplished all over the map...A HUGE rock group for ever and ever...It is The Talking Heads...

As far as reissues go I have two from this series '77 and Remain In Light. As soon as the needle hit the groove I knew it was done right. KPG is the ticket!!

This release is how every record show be pressed. Great mastering, superb lacquer to derive stampers from, and nice quiet vinyl.
-
Excellent sound on this pressing. Very full and detailed sound. Extremely quiet vinyl. Rhino does it again!
-
Silent record, absolute minimal surface noise. Great mastering too. An excellent example of what a new pressing SHOULD sound like.
