Well , what about this
1. 9 ( NINE ) versions / takes of "Queen of the Highway"
2. 5 ( FIVE ) versions / takes of "Roadhouse Blues"
3. 2 ( TWO ) versions / takes of "Peace Frog"
and , theN , 3 other songs from original lp
Talking about overkill...
Sound is good , that is not a problem, and I di LOVE The Doors , but this is really an endurance test ! -
32000 LP waisted while they could have reissued the Aquarius gig that fetch at 4x the original price currently... -_-

First off, the sound is amazing. Audiophile? Maybe, considering it was cut by Bernie Grundman and pressed at Optimal. It's that good. However, even crazy Doors fans (like myself) probably should have our heads examined listening to 10+ straight takes of Queen of the Highway.

Great sound, very clean. I enjoyed it but I think it is one Queen Of The Highway short of being perfect.🤪

Its a great record and a good pressing but, in my opinion, Quantity: 7500 (for USA and 16,000 copies worldwide (Total 23.000 Copies) its not a limited edition.

Edited 3 years agoFirst I tought this must be the most stupid record purchase ever, but actually it was nothing like that. As mentioned on earlier reviews this is a joyable and very entertaining release for a medicore Doors fan. The quality of pressing is excellent and it sounds wonderful. Instrumental versions of queen of the highway are my favorite pieces on the record. I can truly recommend this release for all doors listeners even though you don't own an album version of Morrison Hotel

I almost didn't buy this one because of the track listing. It seemed like a really excessive number of "Queen Of The Highway" outtakes 🙄 Wouldn't they all sound more or less the same? And wouldn't it get boring after the first couple of outtakes? 😴
However! I was wrong! This is a pretty amazing album 😮 It doesn't get boring at all. I'm definitely pleased with my purchase... And it's something that I'll be playing again. Even though this is a compilation of studio "junk" (rejected takes) it's actually really great! 😍
As for the sound quality? I'm very impressed! These are lively and clear recordings with good stereo seperation. The vinyl was nice and flat with nearly zero surface noise 🕵️♂️
