One of my favorite records in my collection. There is nothing quite like this musically. And the " jade green" ocean blue color is stunning.
Also very flat and clean pressing. A record I would certainly never part with. I bought this album because of the cool cover which I saw in the store. Had no idea what I was getting into. -
Would’ve been nice had they put a locked groove or something at the end of Flood II, rather than just an abrupt cut on Wata’s beautiful note. The transition between Flood III and Flood IV could’ve been neater too - there is a touch of leftover Flood III at the start of IV. Apart from a couple of minor flaws, it’s a wonderful piece of vinyl art that we’ve been waiting so long for.

I somehow found this at a Walmart and ended up paying $19 for it. Have no earthly idea why this album would’ve wound up there but I guess stranger things have happened.

My copy is solid side c somehow lacks the luster of the rest of the album. And there is 3 ticks on side b. Other than that it sounds beautiful.

After all the legal drama between Midi Creative and the band for more than 20 years, holding a copy of Flood on vinyl feels very weird and special. My copy sounds great, no pops, defects or background noise. Great presentation and we finally get the official translation of Flood III! This pressing gets a A for me, even though you gotta bump the volume a bit compared to other records I own. One minor thing: I wish the color of the record matched more closely the original cover art, that's the only complaint I have with this pressing. A must must MUST have.

my copys decent. not astoundingly great or anything but it doesn't seem to have any major defects like nonfill or warping. some background noise (especially noticeable on part four because of how quiet it is) but it's plenty listenable. im just happy this came over to vinyl at all, complete dream release. packaging is gorgeous gorgeous GORGEOUS too, pretty heavy gatefold that looks incredible when folded out.

Edited 3 years agoMy colored pressing isn't very good, Side A has a "wooshing" non-fill sound that lasts for almost its whole duration, it also has quite a bunch of ticks and even one MASSIVE pop that made my cart jump. Side B has 10 seconds of continous ticking and ofc same ol ticks and pops here and there. Side C and D also suffer from this. Packaging even looks and feels flimsy IMO, I dug the trifold idea but it still feels cheap, not to mention it comes with crappy paper sleeves. Mastering wise this is nothing to write home about, its quiet and even cranked up there's barely any dynamics. Wouldn't recommend on my end.

Sound quality and packaging are great on this release! The only issue present would be surface noise on this pressing. Nothing too excessive or annoying but there are definitely pops and ticks that could be distracting for some. Personally, I don't mind it too much as it's not excessive on my copy but this could differ for others. Overall though, I'm happy to finally have a pressing of this. I never thought it would ever get pressed so being able to finally pick one up makes me optimistic for a Heavy Rocks release.

Unbelievable that Third Man are still putting records in paper sleeves. Aside from that I’ve got no problems so far, sounds good and the packaging is neat. Glad to finally own this.
