The mix on this album is amazing. Every instrument cuts clear as do the vocals. Never listened to Carcass much and saw this album in the used section of my local shop and grabbed it because the cover looked cool. Def a new fan now! My copy did have a lot of static and a few pops between songs but didn't really matter once I crank it. Prob needs a really good cleaning is all.

Edited 3 years agoThis pressing probably has to be one of my favorites, great color, bright and vibrant sound, and there is not a lot of loud pops or major surface noise!

I dig the sound on this album, this one and surgical steel are both in the right direction style wise. Swansong deviated a little towards the more mainstream side of sound and had me irritated a little bit, but since reforming and delivering new music i feel the band is back to true form and delivering most of the aspects of what a Carcass fan wants to hear

I really love this record, and this pressing Is awesome. Very good sound. I like how the splatter goes "rotting" along with the center labels.

Edited 3 years agoLooks more like Puke Splattered. Anyway, i love the album, just don’t get why it sounds so low… All this 180g new pressings could use a little volume, i have hundreds of old thin vinyl that just blasts my speakers at 6…why this 180g have to be so silent, almost dead in sound? I always have to tweak bass, treble and volume to 10+! really, some people in this forums should listen to a proper vinyl before saying this mediocre editions rock; they don’t!

Album rips, of course. Though, the blood splatter kinda looks like a smashed watermelon :) pretty cool though. Maybe even a smashed giant lady bug. Also pretty cool. Very metal. \m/

Vinyl-Excellent pressing. Sound quality very good for the genre. No ticks, pops or surface noise.( to play at 45rpm!😉).
Sleeve-single sleeve-(gatefold would have been better).
Inner sleeves-poly lined.
Booklet-lavish colour booklet with 'lyrics'. There are lots of words on pages-none of which seem to tie in with the tracks. A BIG let down here.
The songs are very good. On 1st listen I like the album.
A big thumbs up for this album. Highly recommended.
