A desperate sounding, midlife crisis of a record that has traded self respect and ability for sales and certifications. What is all the more annoying, and insulting, is the fact that the final track on the album shows they can also be exceptional. They just decided that the preceding tracks would get them sales and streams, which obviously was far more important to them.

I refuse to buy a physical copy of this trainwreck.

I am too lazy to list the cassette (or one of the many cassettes) here, but I would like to mention that the cassette edition was done without much love or care :(
There are breaks between the tracks where certainly should not be a break.
I got used to missing credits on cassette editions, but this cassette does not even have a tracklist.
Well, it was quite cheap, but still, this could easily have been done much better.

The best way to describe this album is recycled. Not only recycled vinyl, but also recycled sounds. It seems like they are running out of original ideas. It's a mix of sounds from MX, Ghost Stories, AHFOD and earlier albums. The best song IMO is Coloratura. That's really the only song that sounds like what Coldplay would have progressed to if they had limited their collaborations with pop artists. My Universe is catchy, but to collaborate with BTS it seems like they were more interested to sell records to the rabid K Pop fans. But to be fair, all My Universe is, is recycled Adventure of a Lifetime. Every other song had a MX vibe that reminded me of Don't Let It Break Your Heart. It's a good effort, but again, it seems like they are making music to sell rather than to have the fun of making music.

Note for uk/Europe buyers/collectors: There will be no black vinyl for these territories. The recycled colour vinyl is the standard variant for the uk/European vinyl. So beware sellers trying to hype up the price saying it's coloured vinyl... all will be. It's also recycled vinyl so my experience of previous records on recycled vinyl is and will be unfortunately inferior.

You'll also notice this lp has a sub heading: Vol 1 from earth with love. Which possibly means more in this series?

As for the music on show here, well it's Coldplay doing Coldplay. At times I think a comparison to U2 is needed as with both hands they seem currently complacent to just release the same sound over and over for dedicated fans who want more of the same. Much in many ways like the Rolling stones have done too. If it sells records and gig tickets so what. Plus would Coldplay fans react well to a radical departure of sound? The last lp tried to be a little different and some fans disliked it for that reason.

The album itself is... underwhelming. A bit overproduced, especially on People Of The Pride, which sounds like 2006 Muse trying to make a pop song. The track MOTS II (❍) fails to even work as a transition, it's completely out of place and sounds like a Japanese football match mid-earthquake.

It is acceptable, but they have already turned to that wave content for children and adolescents that they have imposed for several years. Anyway you can see that it is a conceptual album, regarding time, Earth, the universe, peace, happiness, but also esoteric symbolism. I rescue "Higher Power", "Humankind", "My Universe"; a theme for a utopian world where we would all not exceed 12 years of age
