First impression is of full and deep sound. But then it becomes a bit muddy and compressed, especially in louder parts. It’s definitely not bad. But not quite audiophile quality either. Cleaned with RCM prior to spinning.

I was skeptical when i saw MPO Pressing, but nothing to worry about in that case, it's just a faultless pressing, a very good one.

Edited 3 years agoI cringe whenever I see MPO but this thing was darn near perfect without a deep clean. Nice, full and rich sound and for a change, a dead quiet pressing from MPO. My copy does have a very slight sway on side 2, but I'd be hard pressed to call this off center as the sound isn't impacted.
Listening on an Audio Technica LP120XUSB with an ATVM95ML cart. -
Great studio album from Sting: IMHO his best in 22 years. Also really well mixed, recorded, and mastered; and pressed at MPO in - who can be somewhat hit & miss - but done so very nicely indeed: in my case at least!
The liner notes and lyrics are also great to have.
My copy is flat and dead quiet where it should be… really excellent! -
My copy has a lot of non fill ripping sounds on side 1 and a few on side 2. Very dissappointing, the sound was really nice and the vinyl itself totally quiet. I hope that the companys will get the idea that 180g pressings are nonsense. I thnink this non fill issue has mainly to do with the cooling down process and this may be more difficult with the heavier pressings. I can't vinyl with non fill sounds in the 70s or 80s.
Will try a second copy.
