I am excited to share with you how much joy this record will bring you! The record sounds amazing and I have several Acoustic Sounds that are just perfect.

What a date when Duke meets Hawk for the first time! Regarded like album for jazz beginners, but like Carter´s Further Definitions clearly not. New compositions reflects evolution of the genre. In addition lifted by first class cats. They added feeling and for classic tracks new wind. There is clearly to listen how they enjoyed session. Mood Indigo was cut at once. It could be interesting also for Rudy Van Gelder who not often recorded strings in his studio in New Jersey. To the unique feeling contributed mix of instruments and theirs "moving" in stereo picture. Yes there isn´t avantgarde or invention like on Money Jungle, but Duke´s personality has the same impact. My QRP pressing is bit warped and not perfect, but on 99% saved high quality, natural sound. Even bit louder cut, but transparent and clear with soft L+R distortion perhaps due of recent tape condition. Thick, fine cardboard smelling good cover like bonus. Must have album and easily recommended reissue.

Flawless from front to back. The Acoustic Sound Series is such a treat! $40-45 CAD for some of the greatest pressings I've ever heard is a hell of a deal. I wish all "audiophile" releases offered this price to quality ratio.

A great addition to any Jazz music collector. A very enjoyable listen. Ryan Smith hit a homerun. Highly recommended!

1st time lucky for me.... great pressing, great packagaing, great mastering and most of all great music. These things are not guaranteed in 2022!!!

Hard to believe this was recorded almost 60 years ago. Superb mastering. Dead silent wax. Nice to see they're using QRP now, same as the Analogue Productions releases. And same thick outers as all the Acoustic Sounds series.

The pressing is extraordinary, dead quiet. It is moderate loud, so
you won't have to turn it up. Any surface noise is so miniscule as to
be negligible.
The recording/sound quality of this album is awesome. I don't
believe I heard any distortions at all. There are not a lot of
musicians on this one, so it's easy to locate the musicians around
the soundstage. The cymbals were not splashy - I could hear full
decays and such. Hawkins sounds just right, with that wonderful
burnished sound. Ellington's piano is generally in the middle while
Hawkins is on the left and the drums are on the right. There are
some other accompaniments blended in as well.
The packaging is really nice as well. It's a solid cardboard gatefold
cover with an archival sleeve inside. The cover has a beautiful
gloss. This is a high quality product that I am happy to own.
