My copy arrived with two copies of sides C&D and no copy of side A&B. Did any of you get the opposite?
-
Edited one year agoOn my 2nd copy and it is a tick and skip nightmare. Bring back CDs!
Piece o' junk. Only safe way to buy it is to play it in a store. -
One of the best sounding records in my collection. Crystal clear, excellent bass, mids, and highs, and the drums cut right through and sound like they're in my living room. Just a fantastic listen.
-
Skips atrociously - tracks 7&8 on Side II & tracks 1&2 on Side III. Just stopped the disc it's so infuriating. This'll teach me to take a whole 12 months to open a record.

Edited 2 years agoSeriously good. Have an original. This is just as good. If not better , bass especially and no surface noise. God bless our reissue golden age. This puppy rox
Better bass usually is the tip off its digital in some way, but this is nice. Original had some nice atmosphere missing from this copy, but this one is so much more clear. Toss up folks. You got nothing to be wanting in this 50th -
Just picked this up yesterday and both disc's are virtually free of any surface noise whatsoever. Beautiful and dynamic pressing! Such a great album and the presentation of the gatefold is nice too!

Edited 2 years agoNo problems here. Sounds stupendous…. From the little drum-rolls in Low Yo Yo to the stark guitar work throughout, to the bouncy keys on the jazzier/soulful pieces. Really great pressing.

The Rhino pressing does sound excellent. I also compared the first disc to an early promo pressing, and it sounds very close. The second disc of this 2xLP is also excellent, and happy to have these in my CB collection.
This set was produced by the amazing Ted Templeman and is the second best CB album made IMHO, second only to Safe as Milk. That classic of course was produced by the incredible Richard Perry.
Everything these guys were involved with was gold, especially these two CB records. -

Sadly, my brand-new copy of this (the 2-LP clear vinyl RSD issue) is one of the noisiest records I've ever purchased. The pops and clicks are jarringly disruptive to a pleasant listening experience. Hoping this gets issued on CD eventually.
