Edited 2 months agoSounds really, really good. Flat and silent the way a good pressing should be.
Only thing I'd note is that the pressing seems to get louder on each side. I usually record my records using my computer and had to keep adjusting the gain on my interface down to not get clipping – the second record is loud!
Great music, great pressing. I especially love the long jam track Escape. -
Why 'SOLID SLIDER' one little skip.
I tried both sets and still got it. Anyone else have this problem? -

Amazing recording! Just like his close-mic'd studio recordings, but in a club setting. I mean it's almost completely dead & dry, no reverb, no room sound, until, as someone else noted, the audience applauds at the end of a song. Kind of like Steely Dan Live at the Record Plant?
Also, as noted, the drums are very present, funky, ready-to-sample!
For years I kind of assumed, Oh, this will just be a live version of the records, but the arrangements are varied and fresh.
I don't have an original to compare to, but my copy sounds nicely pressed, quiet, etc. but I have at least one little skip.
The package is very generous; lots of paper goods.
Peace! -
No original to compare to. Very quiet pressing and dynamic. Just feel good music that sounds amazing.

Quality repress. Quiet, heavy vinyl, great dynamics. Especially the gatefold is beautifully printed.
Musically this showcases a great live experience of Tatsuro and his band full of other top notch japanese musicians (Ryuichi Sakamoto plays the keys e.g.). The fact that the only two studio songs (Space Crush and Marie) on the album are my least favorite soundwise, says a lot about the quality of work of the engineers responsible for the live cuts . The live tracks are recorded so well that sometimes only the applause at the end of the track reminds you that this is actually a live album.
The only very minor issue is that the drums are slightly too prominent in the mix for my taste. Other than that, a fantastic album! A must-have for every Tatsuro fan but also a great introduction to his music for beginners in my opinion. Get it as long as it is still in print.
