Marka 2 has arrived. Awesome release. Got this on iTunes already and when I saw it in the record store immediately bought it. The flipside of I'm a Creator has a nice sound too.

Edited 12 years agoThis isn't a bad release and a reflection of the Manchester sound right now. I'm A Creator is a croud pleaser, it has to be said, but it does tick all the boxes in that department. This is a monster on the dancefloor and always gets a reload. Skittles' bars are commendable, but it's all a bit intrusive on a fairly decent track in my opinion. You're guaranteed to like it the first time around, but similarly with Marka there's little lasting appeal.
Flip the record and you have a weightier rhythm without the vocal annoyance. Happy 5 is a track I've heard out a few times and I do like it, strictly dancefloor material once again, however. It features a teasing buildup before a heavy drop that will get people moving. The track has a time change part-through that I must it makes me crack a smile whenever I hear it. This side is better I'd say.
For those familiar with Exit's output it has to be said that this is going against the grain somewhat. This release is a bit too nightclub-esque for the label, but it's a welcomed change I suppose. I'll drop either side every now and then, probably when I'm pissed up at 2am not giving a shit. Hopefully Exit will return with a deeper sound, and with dBridge promising a number of releases in 2013 on his imprint it's almost guaranteed. Word has it Mark System has some new music signed to Exit as well, that would be more like it!
6/10.
