I have most of The Cars’ albums on Mobile Fidelity Soundlabs pressings, Panorama, however, was not produced in these audiophile pressings. I was less familiar with this album, but I am a big fan of The Cars and wanted copies of all their albums. The third of their albums, Panorama, was perhaps not as popular as the rest but does have a few hits like “Touch And Go”, “Gimme Some Slack” and “Don't Tell Me No”. Overall it is a solid album and has that classic “Cars sound”. I really wish it was released on MFSL.
This Canadian import pressing was very quiet and had very little surface noise. My copy has some slight warpage but it didn’t affect its playability. This recording also has very good sound quality and a nice bass response. It had a better than average signal level (-4.5 dB) and very little or no dynamic range compression (average score of +0.1 as measured by DRC-Meter).
I gave this album 4 out of 5 stars.
