This is transferred using vinyl, I don’t know why they did this, it was released from master tape on the following CD compilations years ago.

Edited 10 years agoThis is the rare instance where the people involved in compiling a box set not only managed to gather about every relevant track and rare version but also included nice, non-tacky extras (a great booklet with interviews, tour programme replica), got the mastering right and somehow convinced the beancounters that a 5.1 mix by one of the best guys to do those (Steven Wilson) was in order. All of that in great packaging at a more than reasonable price. An astonishing feat all around. This is how it should be done.
