Does this edition include a bonus cd? This website claims it does: https://www.jazzmessengers.com/en/69163/piero-umiliani/todays-sound-gatefold-sleeve-poster

This album was the obvious inspiration for the Beastie Boys album 'In Sounds from way Out'. Some songs on their album pretty much sound like covers of songs on here. That has always been a favorite album of mind and now I think I understand why they were a little nonchalant about authorship of that album. So glad to have found this as I instantly loved it. Super dopeness and playful.

On my pressing, side 2 is completely distorted. Crackling and cracking all over the page. Must be due to the recording, as no damage is visible on the surface. It's a pity and I wouldn't recommend buying it without a trial hearing.

Solid press with clear, balanced sounds. It's a must for those who love italian library music. A cornucopia of different styles. Thank you Maestro Umiliani!

Record 1 sounds very good but the 2nd record sounds terrible. Crackling from the first second till the last on both sides and it's not the 1st time i have this problem with schema records (same problem with jay richford & gary stevan - feelings). I really would advice against buying any record from schema records without listening to it first!!

Edited 4 years agoThis sounds almost stunning. Bass is rich, soundstage is wide, quiet pressing. Highly recommended. Also disagree that there are only two good songs. Lots of styles incorporated. Lots of fun.

the track Open Space was used as the theme of the excellent film Baba Yaga. The album also includes the classic Lady Magnolia. Apart from those two essential tracks, I find To-Day's Sound rather dull and uninspired. Perhaps it would have sounded better reduced to a single disc. Some of it is really just dull muzak.
