Edited one year agoPretty decent reissue, indeed. I don't have an original copy to compare with, but I think Luaka Bop and Joe Lambert did a good job. I prefer the sound of this release, slightly less bright and more dynamic, than the 'Body and Soul' reissue that is a little bit forced in highs, IMHO. The pressing is well made, flat and quiet surface. The music, obviously the important thing, is outstanding. In addition to the solid-magnetic beats and synth-punchy-melodies so characteristic of Onyeabor's music, in this record the female vocals are specially present in the arrangements and in the mix as well (that's wonderful), and the lyrics are quite political and reflexive in general. It also has one of the most powerful and funny covers of the entire Onyeabor's iconic discography; a real colorful-funky statement. The wonder of William Onyeabor never dissapoints and this album proves it. Again, and for now, this is the only opportunity to enjoy his entire catalogue in a clear enough vinyl-releases without leaving a fortune in original Nigerian VG+ or NM copies. Recommended.

What is the sound like on this reissue? Would greatly appreciate some insight. Reissues can be gamble...
