so is the general consensus that this is the best vinyl pressing of the album? I don't necessarily need the extras but will get it if it's superior to other recent reissues

Superb in every regard. Well made box set with excellent vinyl. I'd forgotten just how hard this gem of an LP ROCKS! This is a go-to pressing as far as I'm concerned.

Great box: carefully remastered (no excessive compressing), very nice and clean pressing, flat, centered, no surface noise, heavy covers, incl. . There is nothing to be missed here, a must for every collector.
