Edited 11 months agoMy favorite song has static ughhh. Present Tense. Sad. I hate the roulette wheel that is buying new vinyl

Like others, my copy is very warped. Plays ok but hard to watch the black circle spin. I returned for second copy but it was also warped. Hopefully PJ does a better reissue for this one soon

My copy had a slightly warped disc which completely came out after a few hours in a Vinyl Flat, but yes, seems warping is common with this press.
The mastering on this is really great though and this easily sounds more spacious and analogue than the numerous other PJ vinyl albums I own. Nice soundstage, great separation and excellent bottom end. Easily the best sounding PJ vinyl I own. -
Great pressing and mastering with a nice stereo soundstage, huge bass and some serious sonic thunder! This sumbitch sounds phenomenal when played LOUD! Heavyweight vinyl is flat as a pancake on my copy & whisper-quiet after a good wet-scrub.

Did this go out of print? I know they just came out with a clear one, but I thought they were going to stay in print...

Edited 4 years agoAs seems to be a common issue, my copy was mildly warped, enough to make the cartridge look like its surfing a little wave, but not enough to cause any issues with playback or audio quality. I think people really need to WET clean their vinyl, as once I performed two quick cleans the surface noise and pops/crackles present on the first spin disappeared. It's now nearly dead silent, but has a bit of a hiss at higher volumes. The sound quality is great though, its quite punchy, Eddie's voice is wonderfully clear, and the soundstage is expansive and detailed. The funky folding poster/jacket, inner sleeves, and labels are all gorgeous. I may have gotten lucky with my copy, but I would definitely recommend this release if you can still find it for a reasonable price! I picked mine up this weekend for $34 so they are still out in the wild- keep an eye out!
EDIT: The tape hiss I noticed is only present during "Sometimes", and I also learned is intentional- my mistake, and to reiterate this is an awesome pressing! -

great reissue, great great artwork. sadly the record is kind of wavy and has some back ground noise.
any thoughts ? -
So is this reissue the same double-fold-out jacket, again with 4 different photo-pack versions? And does the re-master on 150g sound as good or better?
I'd love to hear from someone who has both. I've had the original since new and I'd love to pick up this reissue to play the hell out of, while tucking away the original - as long as it still sounds as mighty as the original. Thanks
