Notes
A “Digital + Physical Component” package was available solely for purchase through the Nine Inch Nails official web store for a limited time. Purchasing this version included the instant of the MP3 EP and a “physical component” which shipped later.
The physical component contains six 10x7 inch color printed cards which contain song lyrics and EP credits, along with a 9.5x6.5 inch x-ray-like print of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with their eyes scratched out, all sealed in an unmarked black envelope with a cautionary sticker on the back side. The package and all the contents also happen to contain a fine layer of black toner dust, which (as indicated on the cautionary sticker) will make a mess when opened. (See images for details).
According to the official NIN website, “The intention of this record is for it to exist in the physical world, just like you.”

Why is the 'physical component' not listed anywhere? I feel like I'm not being 'complete' in my collection by just adding the ...

I am totally floored by this release, and yes I found it really bizarre with the last three tracks from TDS in reverse on the B-side.

Edited 7 years agoWow. Been waiting a long time for another NIN album that I instantly love from first song onward... waited to listen to this album until I got the vinyl version of the album (which I feel is a great pressing regardless of a previous review) and I love it from the first song onward... haven't felt that since The Fragile. Totally impressed and I've been a fan since '92. Glad to see Trent is killing it again. Not saying albums after The Fragile weren't good, just lacking imho. But they had awesome elements and told great stories when listened in entirety w/o skipping through tracks. And am very glad to these getting vinyl releases and the represses he is putting out! Trent has been my favorite producer for about 25 years so I'm a lifelong fan and may have a biased opinion. But, I say if you are a fan of NIN you should buy the vinyl and listen to it from start to finish. LOUD! It's imperative to listen LOUD!

Edited 8 years agoLeft overs from Year Zero, in my opinion.
I like all albums from the NIN catalogue.
But this one is simply not acceptable!
No clever catches like "Not What It Seems Like (Instr.)" in Deviations 1, for example.
Hoping this is not the actual NIN event in 2017. -
