Alice In Chains – Facelift

Amazing sound on this release! Man, I was caught off guard by this one. The mastering is beautifully done. The first LP is slightly warped but I think (but still figuring out if) I can live with it. Besides that, for 20 bucks, it's a steal. Bob Ludwig is one of the great of all time and he's behind the mastering console. Add Chris Bellman to the staff and then you have it on your turntable. It's a must listen and a must buy. My matrix doesn't have anything to do with what's mentioned on this page but it sounds so nice and dynamic.

I am listening to this as I am typing this, and yeah. This press rocks! The only downside I'll say is that the bottom end is lacking a little and was cut a little low. Turn it up, and it'll sound like AIC is playing in your room. You'll pay up beforehand but is still worth it if you're a grunge collector or a massive AIC fan.

Been wanting to pick this up for awhile now. Got it on eBay for a steal @ $20 used (mint copy). And the reviews here are spot on! Sounds fantastic! Dead silent and punchy! Highly recommended!

Yeah this pressing sounds incredible! I was a little hesitant, but the reviews aren’t wrong. I wish the Jar of Flies pressing sounded a fraction as good as this one

Everything about this entry matches my copy; labels, stamped runout, insert, and jacket. But mine is solid black, not translucent at all. May add a second SK entry for solid black. Anyone else have the same?

While I can't compare this to another version of the same LP, I will say this sounds damn incredible and if its a digital remaster than the debate over analog is over but no matter how hard I look I can't find definitively if it is digital remaster or if its ADA whatever. The sound stage is incredible, no surface noise, and no compression for $27 makes this one of the easiest grabs of the decade. Side D is quieter than the rest of the album, just turn the volume up a bit again.

Picked up this pressing used at a small record shop in Michigan. It was in fact the 2021 European reissue. This repress plays extremely well and mostly clear of cracks and pops after a cleaning. You can play this pressing loud and it sounds great. Not really any other complaints here. I payed about 20 USD for my copy and at that price, I couldn't resist picking this up. To me, it was worth the price I paid.

This is really a quality press. No background noise at all and this record is now over 30 years! Just as Layne hits the high pitch at the end of I Can't always give me the shivers! Critics of this pressing may complain about to less bass. But for me, this one is a perfect balance. Very clean sound.

Anyone know how this version compares to the CB cut?
Reason I ask is this sounds really good so was wondering if the CB is better?
