Gabriels (3) – Angels & Queens

Good, but not a perfect release at all. We Will is rendered almost unlistenable due to buzzing distortion. This increases on both discs, the further that you get to the centre of the disc. 'Love and hate in a different time' has it a little, but its not as noticable.

I'd hope that it would just be my pressing, but I thought it worth mentioning as having dug into the main release page for this record, some others have a mixed feeling on this release, which is a real shame.

I doubt that the matrix is different to the black vinyl version but instrument separation is quite poor on this one. Sounds compressed.
Other than this pressing is not bad even though there are some clicks on side A.

This is a good album. My only dissatisfaction is that I preordered when it was first announced almost a year in advance. There were no special pressing like the double with booklet that I would have bought if it was available. Usually artists reward the early orders but not so here. Also had to ship from uk when now I could buy in the US for much less shipping. I am not against buying any future releases but definitely will not be pre ordering.

killer album, first day listening and its deep, heavy stuff. such a classic sound.

Disappointing sound. It is intolerable that it sounds better on Spotify than on the vinyl itself. There are artists who treat vinyl as just another merchandising item, for this reason, I don't intend to buy more Gabriels records.

Very dynamic and loud pressing. My vinyls were warped but still playable. Contrasted with the silver single disc pressing, the double disc vinyl was much quieter. The single disc is still a great pressing and more readily available. The double disc is available through the website and comes with a cd that has extra tracks which are all great additions. Such a hassle to repackage and ship back to the UK; I am just going to let it ride but buyer beware if considering the double disc purchase, warpage is real.

Completely blown away by the sound and dynamics on this 2 x LP (11/10).
I already had more Gabriels releases for comparison.
Played with a Sl1210 MK2 / A&H Xone 92 / Genelec 8020

I confirm : sound is absolutely marvelous on this one.

This CD runs well over 80 minutes. As a consequence, both my CD players have troubles playing it. Does anyone else here have these issues, too?

Good quality pressing.
But a big fy for the people who decided to use a paper inner sleeve. Hairlines all over on brand new vinyl.
