Rick Wakeman – Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

Both copies I have of this have the volume cranked way up and the sibilance is off the charts. It's curio, but not a great one.

And mine has:- "AMLH.63621.A1 37 B TROGN'NORMAL A-2" side 1.
"AMLH.63621.B1 30 B" on side 2

This edition has incredible sound. The sleeve is awesome. Beautiful edition overall. A definitive version in my opinion.

I'm finding that there are two variants of this. One with white lettering on the spine (and a slightly sun washed MOFI banner), and one with yellow lettering on the spine. Can someone back this up?

For the listener who likes their music EQ'd brightly. Not one of my favorite ways to listen to this album personally, it's quite a bit tipped up in the highs. The unnatural EQ is most noticeable on David Hemmings' voice but overall it makes the music on this quality recording almost unlistenable to me.

The vocals at the word "crystal" are awful. Mono tone high speed out of tune. I literally did a double take. I'm playing the radio airplay vesrion and don't understand what diffrence. Not Wakeman at his best.

progtastic with David Hemmings narrating with a Public School voice that really was not his ..... 😂😂😎 this is Überkitsch and would not have been seen dead in 74 with that in my school satchel; now all these years later it is just bombastic overcooked meringue but quaint and funny and yes nostalgic .

Loved the entire LP from start to finish just on the quality of the pressing alone. Rich, vibrant tracks. Pay attention to each instrument. Percussion is crisp and clean. Just an enjoyable ride through and through for the brilliant listening pleasure alone. When you listen to a perfectly mint copy you'll drift away with this one.

This editing is very poorly done. The CD only has 2 tracks, although it says it has 5 tracks (the first 4 are condensed into 2 tracks, just like it would be on the original LP). The supposed bonus track that appears in the booklet and even printed on the CD label simply doesn't exist. The label's shame.
