Absolutely beautiful looking pressing that sounds just as good. I’ve never owned the original mix on vinyl, but this pressing sounds great to my ears.

The lack of gatefold on a double disc is a huge disappointment! I've honestly never seen a double disc without a gatefold. Definitely skimped out on the packaging when they had the chance to make a thing of beauty.

Personally i have never heard other versions of this album due to all the negative reviews. Im glad i waiting because this release sounds pretty decent to my ears. Obviously the main album is on 1 disc so its not going to sound as good as a 2lp set. But for what its worth it sounds good. I recommend it

Did anyone else’s copy of this variant have two side ones I flipped the record after side one and then thought I was gonna hear side two . Only to hear the first side again. Had to take it back and get the standard red since it was the only other copy my record store had.

Wish it was a gatefold, beyond that I've got very little complaints. The new mix lends itself well to vinyl and overall I'm pretty impressed with it. I think it does a really good job of bringing foreword some sounds that were lost on the original mix as well as adds a more post-hardcore feel to it more akin to Bullets which is something I personally enjoy, but may not be for someone who prefers the more polished sounds of their later two albums.

It sounds good - for a picture disc.

The discs look incredible, and being my first zoetrope record I spent an embarrassing long time holding my phone up with the LED strobing at 30hz watching the discs spin, so that really is what you're paying for here. Through my speakers they sounded okay when I was listening from a distance, however once I put my headphones on I noticed the inconsistent bass, and the harsh sometimes crunchy high end. I have a pressing of Welcome To The Black Parade which has a similar issue but 10x worse, so I'm happy that this pressing is an improvement over that.

All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase, just the zoetrope discs alone make this worth it.

The engineering is much cleaner on this version, without coming across as too polished. Still feels like it had the edge and aggression of the original release, but with much better mixing. The EQing, dynamics, and transient shaping are all great. Honestly, I was a little skeptical that this might just be a cash grab, but the new mixes don't disappoint. It's like getting to experience one of my favorite albums for the first time all over again.

A worthy remixing of the entire album, bringing everything to its fullest potential. "Helena" has more reverb, almost to a haunting degree. "Give 'Em Hell, Kid" features a quieter opening to accommodate new vocals of Gerard hyping up the listener. The bridge of "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison" is all in the left channel and is louder. "The Ghost Of You" brings Rinat's vocals to the forefront at the bridge. "Interlude" is expertly quiet to trick the listener into turning the volume up for the jumpstart of "Thank You For The Venom." "It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fucking Deathwish" and "I Never Told You What I Do For A Living" include new reverb and echo effects on Gerard's vocals, as does most of the album as mentioned previously. My main gripe with this is that the "deluxe" stuff is just live recordings when 'The Black Parade' got an entire second disc dedicated to demos, which I think would've been amazing here. Another is the visuals, they're the same as the standard edition, aside from the cover and the removal of the movie poster in the lyric insert. Aside from these, this edition breathes new life into the breakout record by one of the best bands to come out of New Jersey and the 2000s.
