I came here for a vinyl and I am really sad not to find one. A shame, I think this album is a banger.

Here is my take on In Silico: it's not a DnB album and never claimed to be that, and as much as people that are pure DnB-heads are pissed, if you put aside the whole "Pendulum is a DnB band" and listen to the album as it is, it still doesn't feel right. But the more you listen to it, the more the songs grow on you, from my personal experience. I have re-listened to the album a bunch of times, and it went from a hate stance towards it, to able, to outright loving it. If you are looking for a pure DnB experience, this album is not it. But if you just want a good music album, and already like the idea of both Rock and electronic music in various forms, this album probably has something for you.

Edited 8 years agoPendulum is the band who really got me into d'n'b years ago. Some people are hating just because this record really hit the mainstream and some of the songs played everywhere. Not all the song are great about half of them really make me tick. The Tempest, Granite and 9000 miles being probably the best ones.

Disappointment with a capital D. After 'Hold Your Colour' prospects for even more greatness were shattered. 2nd album syndrome really is a proven theory here. Whilst I do respect this band/act, this is a dire change in direction with not one notable song on this album. I can't even listen to Propane Nightmares because it was so over played on the radio. Sad and worse still the third album is another turkey.

Edited 15 years agoJust thinking of this album makes me sad. I can understand why Pendulum 'sold out' (which is how alot of their fans felt I think), but what I dont understand is why they thought this musical direction was a good idea. I mean, what was wrong with their old style? Songs like 'Slam' 'Fasten Your Seatbelts' 'Blood Sugar' etc, were immensly popular, even in the mainstream. So why.. for the love of God why, did they make this? After so long in production, I was amazed at how bland every single song is on this album. At a push 'Propane Nightmares' is okay.. I guess.. but that is literally it, everything else is garbage. Theres just no soul, no effort, no anything. Every drum beat for instance is the same on every song, or it sure does sound that way. Probably the most dissapointing album I've ever heard in my life. What a shame.
