Picked this up at a local record store - I have to assume this just a reissue of the 2013 pressing. Sounds great! Really clear and vibrant, and the gatefold looks awesome. Poly-lined inner-sleeve was a nice bonus, too. Definitely recommend this pressing!

I just received my copy from Amazon.
The FZ serial number on the spine of the record don't coincide with the one described here, but the barcode does. It doesn't have the Pallas sticker (WTH?) but one on the back that states: Made in .
The cover looks darker than the original, higher contrast. It doesn't look pixelated but the definition and the resolution of the cover could be better. The track listing and the disclaimer looks a bit blurry, but readable.
I've yet to set up my vinyl gear so once it's ready, I'll test the record, check the contents, and I will update my opinion here.

This is a really good pressing. No surface noise issues at all. This record does not sound as good as Apostrophe, also pressed at Pallas.

Frank's voice is well captured and focused, but softer than I'd prefer. I wish they mic'd him more appropriately, or do something to bring his voice out stronger, but as it stands, it's the only thing I have against this record. It's not a big knock, but it's just not sharp like on Apostrophe. The instruments are also well-captured, and they don't seem softened, like Frank's voice. The soundfield is adequately wide, and has depth. If you sit in the sweet spot, there are sonic effects that can be utterly hypnotic.

          Overall really good.

Comparing to the US 1973 WLP: This pressing has more detail in many areas, much more bass depth especially in the drums. That said it lacks a lot of the high frequency information contained on the WLP. This makes an already somewhat veiled recording, even more so. As such it keeps it from being the ultimate pressing. If forced to chose one I'd opt for the WLP most times as it's more "alive". I like them for different reasons, so I've kept both.

Flawless pressing, dead quiet noise floor, crazy spacious multi-dimensional soundstage (seriously), clarity and separation of both voice and instruments is unparalleled. I hear stuff going on here that is practically inaudible on other formats and pressings, like I'm at the board with The Dweez and Travers and they are fading in and out all the other tracks (ok, just some of them actually) that you normally don't hear in the final mix. The sonic layers contained in this recording are just literally phenomenal, without proper words to describe. Yeah, FZ was a genius in his own category for sure. Home run for Pallas, highly HIGHLY recommended! Get this, hear for yourself. Unmatched quality, every Pallas pressing of FZ albums are off the chain but this one specifically is quite exemplary! I'm quite literally blown away by this one, it's that good!

One of my favorite records and finally the reissue does it justice. Thank god that with all of the drama and infighting within the Zappa family they can at least agree upon that their fathers music deserves a AAA mastering job with one of the best mastering engineers in the business. Every time I drop the needle on this or any of the other of the recent Zappa reissues I’m awestruck with not only his expertise in songwriting and arranging but that his studio prowess is unmatched by many of his peers. A true genius and this record it the perfect example of that.

This pressing really is great. Frank's voice sounds phenomenal and the instruments sound excellent as well. All the little noises of the orchestra come to life on this release. No pressing flaws, the record came out of the package looking nice and polished, they did a good job with this one, no surface noise. For less than $20 you get a really good record.

This is a superb pressing. I have an original vinyl somewhere (likely lost is the shuffle of life) and an early CD release. This pressing has far more depth than my CD reissue. It is outstanding and is void of any recognizable surface noise. A great (re) purchase. In fact, I have four of the recent FZ vinyl releases and I could not be happier with them.
