This album has grown on me more and more...I used to not like it, now I love it.

#3 album of TSOM. More hard rock and gothic rock, less darkwave and post punk. But still it's decent album

A gloriously over-the-top, nearly self-indulgent album that proved that The Sisters and Andrew Eldritch could switch from their typical gloomy sound. Songs like More, Detonation Boulevard, and Doctor Jeep all offer an incredible headbanging experience that is too often overlooked or sneered at.

Holy crap is this thing cut HOT! It's almost painful to listen to with headphones turned up more than halfway volume, and even blasted out of my speakers there's no distortion or loss at super high volumes. This pressing is nearly dead silent surface-noise wise, and the mastering is crystal clear. Like Andrew Eldritch whispering directly in your ear clear. The mastering is nothing short of exhilarating, and reminds me a lot of the production on Floodland (and sounds a whole lot better than the Floodland remaster by Mobile Fidelity). Very loud, upfront and aggressive. I'm super pleased with this reissue, especially as finding an original seems like it would cost into the hundreds of dollars, and I can't imagine the audio quality being much better than this.

Talk about a band that fell off, even the "single" off this album is horrible.

Rather low level output from this edition but the sound is good to excellent. First two tracks seem to be mastered differently, overly compressed.

so is the general consensus that this is the best vinyl pressing of the album? I don't necessarily need the extras but will get it if it's superior to other recent reissues

can anyone who owns this particular pressing comment on the quality? really don't need everything else that comes in the boxset but will get it if thats the superior pressing

A great 'starter-kit' for newbs - the CD's sound just as fine as they ever did.
